While visiting La Crosse, we had dinner on a Thursday night and sat outside on the patio listening to the live band. It was so picturesque. The manager greeted us and was so friendly. The entire staff was hard working and very gracious. The food was outstanding. The cheese curds were crispy and wonderful. We loved the fish tacos and catfish! The kids loved the burgers and fries. We had such a wonderful time we came back for lunch two days later on a beautiful sunny afternoon and had the Asian chicken salad. It was so fresh and delicious. Thanks to the staff at Pettibone for making our trip to La Crosse memorable. Can't wait to come back.

They did a nice job on the remodel. Looks great. However, after looking forward to the "grand opening", we gave the new place a try. Can't say how the food was...... Because after 2 hours .... We never got our food. The waitress said they lost our order and at that point we should forget about it. They were too busy to serve us. During our wait, we did get a couple of drinks and an order of cheese curds. They did comp us those items............... But I never got my food. This was the first time in my life that the service was so bad that I .... Never....got my food. Too bad because it is the best waterfront view in town. I have an idea....hire a competent manager and manage the help. They are running around like ants getting nothing done.

It's too bad this place has such poor service and food, because the location is perfect. We came in for dinner as a group of 8 and waited over an hour for our food. When we spoke with the manager, he made it sound like it was our fault due to the larger group. The food came out over cooked and not a single one of us enjoyed our meal. I was surprised they would even serve a sandwich so thoroughly burnt. Maybe we'll try again in a few months and hopefully they will have it all straightened out.

It's what you would expect on a beautiful Friday night on the river in LaCrosse. Hour wait for a table outside and immediate seating inside although one of the last tables left. Staff was friendly and pleasant. Pretty loud inside and the thermostat felt like it was set at 62...just a little to brisk. Food was average as well as the price. If we could have sat outside it would have been a 4 star.

New decor with floor to ceiling windows have a striking view of the Mississippi. The designer did not contemplate the acoustics. The tile floor, high ceiling, windows, cinder block wall and loud music has the sound bouncing unnecessarily through the restaurant and the table had to be shouting at each other to be heard. This must be taken care of immediately. The service remains poor and the kitchen could not keep up. Seated at 7:30, dinner arrived at the table at 9:00pm. Overheard the table next to us also speak with the manager that it took 45 minutes for their food to arrive. The positive side, the fish was delicious! A lot of kinks to work out.

Have lived in the area for over 6 years and have never eaten here before. I didn't see it before the Reno but my husband did and said that the new restaurant is much improved! Had the Friday night fish fry. We were seated immediately and outdoors. Fish fry was great, service was quick, I will be back!

Service was very very poor!!!an the food is ok at best!! Don't plan on going again!....but on the up side the remodel looks nice....that's the best thing going for it.

Used to love this place, but since the remodel, it has lost all it's charm! I came with a group of friends and ordered drinks, first they were out of the Sangria which was disappointing, but my friend ordered a mojito and they were OUT OF MINT! Not only that but it tasted like a cup of pure liquid sugar, awful! He only had one drink out of it ordered a beer instead. The waitress asked how it was and we were honest and she took the full drink back. The meal was fine, a little on the cold side. At the end when we got our bill, they charged my friend for the crappy drink that we sent back. Very disappointed. Hope it improves, because this used to be one of my favorite summer hangouts.

THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Waited over an hour for our food which is easy bar food. Everyone in the restaurant was waiting a long time! People clapped when their food came out! The manager wondered around and looked clueless and had no idea that ticket times were over an hour nor did he care. The food was so not worth the wait at all. This owner needs to hire a restaurant consultant to fix the problems. Great views of the river but too loud to have a conversation. This should be renamed "the Slowski's" at least you know what your getting. Hire someone who knows how to run a restaurant and not a babysitter!

Who knows? We waited and waited for food. We finally canceled the order. I appreciate the kitchen is small, but they need better management of their wait staff. Offer fewer choices if you have to and train your staff to take care of the boaters that come. Really sad and no excuses!

TERRIBLE service and just ok food. Went to lunch there today and got there at 1pm, didn't get any waitress acknowledging we were even there for at least 15 minutes (yes it was busy, but not THAT busy), and her personality was lackluster to say the least. We finally got to order and was there for an hour (2pm) with still no food. And people that came AFTER us, got to order, got their food and left, before we even got our meal! After an hour (2pm), we notified what appeared to be the manager that we have been there an hour and no food. He went back to the kitchen and we got our food within 5 minutes. But no apologies or follow up from him at all! And we had ordered a BLT and lettuce wraps, why would THAT take 45-60 minutes to make? Really? It wasn't that busy in the dining room, but outside seating was pretty busy. After no acknowledgement or taking our order for 20-25 minutes, we should have just left. But after no food in an hour, we definitely should have just walked out. We will definitely NOT be going back to this newly renovated Boat Club. Unbelievably bad service and just mediocre food. We were elsewhere last night, on the river, and the contrast was STRIKING! In the other river-side restaurant, even though it was super busy, our waiter was amazing, had great personality and came by our table multiple times asking how things were going. Here, we, maybe, saw her once after we got our meal, asking how things were. Not going back. Wish I could say where we went last night but this isn't their review. I WILL be writing on our experience last night as well.

They should get 5 stars because they have the best Cheese curds I've ever had in my life. The breading they use is a bit different then the typical cheese curd and it's absolutely freaking ridiculous how good these things are, and big. If it wasn't for the cheese curds this place would probably get a 3 or 3 1/2 star because there are always a ton of flies in there. It's a little annoying, but they have decent food and a good beer selection! It's a great place to chill when you need to gas up the boat or when you need to recharge from the hot sun! BEST CHEESE CURDS EVER!

They made a fantastic bloody mary and didn't complain when I asked for extra veggies. I ordered Nachos, which were good but not great, but for only $8.50 they made a meal and I was satisfied. My friends ordered potato skins (great) and shrimp (great) and my wife ordered the pulled chicken. The kids menu items satisfied them and even a left over chicken strip was good. We came in on the river and were able to park at a pier. I would definitely go back.

We have been to pettibone a few times and really like it. We stopped in yesterday and they had a couple of bands playing. They both were great. The food was good and the bloody marys were delicious. There is plenty of room for the kids to play outside and it is ok to wear your beach clothes. We will be back soon!
